The personal disquiet of me…

A long entry but it explains the whole weekend…

So Saturday morning Liam and Casey arrived, then Lil’ J arrived then Big C left. All this meant it was time for us to head off to Birmingham.

I took Liam, Casey and Lil’ J in my car, Brad took R and C in his. The journey was uneventful itself apart from something I found hilarious during our stop off. We stopped at the services to get some lunch. A new Pizza Hut Express had opened up so we ate there. While waiting in the queue to be served there was a small argument going on in front of me. The lady being served was very much into recycling and was arguing that they wouldn’t recycle her old pizza box so she took out of the book, plonked it on a tray and insisted they reuse the pizza box there and then. While she was making all this noise, and yes it was a lot of noise, she failed to notice her son getting his arm stuck in the vending machine that gave out toys for a £1. Deciding not to pay the £1 he rammed his arm as far into the machine as he could get it and then burst in to tears… wailing and screaming… when his arm got stuck.

His mother tried to slap his arm, harder and harder, because obviously in some circumstances that works but this time it didn’t. It was well and truly stuck. So along came the manager with a key for the machine. It turns out that the reason the brat couldn’t get his arm out was because he’d actually got hold a ball and wouldn’t let go. If he’d have let go he could have got his arm out… as he did when he let go as his mother took the toy away from him. As soon as she was free she gave the toy to the boy and thanked the manager and went to walk off. The manager called her back said “I’m sorry madam but that’ll be a £1 for the toy.”

She was FURIOUS! As far as she was concerned her son had won it fair and square. The manager pointed out that it was actually theft and if she didn’t cough up the £1 he’d call the police, who were waiting just outside anyway. He offered her the chance to discuss it in his office which she did, which was a big fucking shame as it meant I didn’t get to hear the rest of the story.

Well with our break over and done with we carried on to Brum.

Casey asked how long until nanny’s (Afflecks mom) but before I could answer Liam said “We’re going to Auntie Vodka’s first!” (or Auntie Wonka because he can’t pronounciate his V’s). He then leant over and said “Auntie Wonka gives you loads of sweets!”

Finally get there we dropped the kids off and then headed off to see Becki and Steve who we’ve not seen for years and then off to Sam and Marshalls for the BBQ.

So this part of the weekend is where things get very sketchy. Mainly because I got VERY VERY Drunk! And I do mean VERY.

So this is Sam & Marshall… the hosts of the party.

I don’t know when Boy George arrived.

Or when the fight started!

I apologise to all those I rang and/or texted during the evening while I was very pissed.

So Sunday, with a mighty hangover fully in place and a cold coming on (which no one believed, they all thought I was hungover all day!) we headed off to the Zoo with the kids. Sixteen of us!!

This is where we all had lunch… interesting ain’t it!

We didn’t notice the escapee until we printed the picture out. Personally I think Carrie was trying to sneak it home

So Sunday we stayed in and I got worse. So much worse than come midnight I wasn’t too good and Affleck was on the phone to NHS Direct because of the condition I’d got in to. I was a wreck.
Monday we had a huge dinner at Afflecks parents, cooed over Baby Jake and then came home.

So there you have my weekend. I still feel like crap. We’ve got no kids in until Thursday! Wahoo!
